Murray & Lanman (later Lanman & Kemp)
The following information was from Fike's Book:
David T. Lanman, located at 69 Water St., New York City in 1836, formed a partnership with Lindley Murray in 1842. Murray left the business in 1854 and George Kemp, a senior clerk, became a silent partner. In 1858 the firm became known as D.T. Lanman & Kemp, in 1861, Lanman & Kemp. The pair produced many products including the Florida Water, retaining it's original name; they also produced Bristol's Sarsaparilla. Lanman died in 1864; in 1871 the firm relocated from 69 Water St. to 70 William St. In 1901 Lanman & Kemp merged with Barclay & Co.
In a 1912 Trademark registration for Oriental Hair Tonic, it was noted that George Massey was also a member of the firm. At that time, the Kemp end of the partnership was shared by about 5 heirs. A package wrapper from 1925 indicates that Lanman & Kemp Barclay & Co were still in business at least that late.
