Upham's Hair Dye
This product was originally sold by Samuel C. Upham in New York City. He probably started selling it around 1863. It appears he sold this brand to J. J. Kromer fairly soon. Kromer was advertising it in 1864 and later on Upham started selling his Japanese Hair stain, which was probably the same formula. The ad below was from the Library of Congress web site and they dated it as 1864.
