Kromer's Hair Dye
John J. Kromer was in the Patent Medicine business in Philadelphia from 1864 through 1872. He started out selling Upham's Hair Dye and eventually changed the name to Kromer's. According to Fike, the label on Kromer's Hair Dye said it was made by Johnston Holloway & Co. of Philadelphia. They probably bought out the brand around 1871.

The first reference I've found to Kromer's Hair Dye was in the 1872 John F. Henry catalog. Fike stated that it was for sale at least as late as 1930. An 1880 listing for the product called it Kromer's Hair Dye (late Upham's)."
