Hagan's Hair Coloring
William E Hagan began working with Charles Heimstreet as a Clerk in 1848 (see Heimstreet). An ad October of 1859 indicated that W. E. Hagan was already the Proprietor of Heimstreets Inimitable Hair Coloring. The ad also said he had fifteen years of experience. At that time he was listed in the Troy Directory as "William E. Hagan & Co. (F. H. Knight). The label on some of the C. Heimstreet bottles said they contained "W.E. Hagan's Hair Coloring." It is not known when he made this label change, but it was probably just a couple of years later that he went ahead and changed the embossing on the bottles as well. At some point the entire line of Hagan's articles were taken over by Demas Barnes.

Hagan's most well known product was his "Magnolia Balm," which was a preparation for the skin.
