The following advertisement was transcribed from an 1850s Buffalo Directory. The large ad was primarily for a Hair Cutting, Washing, and Curling Establishment. They did however, mention hair products they sold called: "Cream of Nerdy," "Scented Bears Oil," and "Golden Hair Wash." I've copied the ad for the Golden Hair Wash below. The Proprietor's name was given as: Charles Sands. According to Fike, Sand's Superior Scented Bears Oils was advertised in 1851 and 1860.
