William B. Riker
Wlliam B. Riker was a Patent Medicine Manufacturer in New York City starting around 1855. His business was at 353 Sixth Ave, from 1855 through 68. His business was still active into the 20th century as Wm. B. Riker & Son. According to Devner, he was selling a hair preparation called "Riker's Septone" at least as early as 1878, and at least as late as 1907. It was a product "for destroying dandruff germs." Wm B. Riker (or his sons) probably also sold the "Riker's American Hair Restorer" described below. I know he marketed a product called "Riker's American Face Powder." William B. Riker & Son Company registered a Trade Mark for a Hair Dressing and Dandruff Remover in 1907 (TM #61,969).
