Joseph A. Pozzoni was a Wig and Hair Dye Manufacturer in St Louis at least as early as the 1860s. The 1863 ad below indicates that he was in business starting in 1840. In 1880, Pozzoni advertised all the hair products below in the Morrison & Plummer Catalog. He also advertised a complexion powder in an 1886 magazine.
According to Theo Adams, Prosper A. Pignero and Joseph A. Pozzoni were listed in the St.Louis Business Directories at 29 5th.St. in St Louis Mo. They were listed as a PREMIUM WIG AND HAIR DYE FACTORY ESTABLISHED 1840. Theo also said Pozzoni went on to make Complexion Powder and other products.
