According to Fike, George Loudon was in business by 1849, and his son joined him in 1858. In 1861, Louden & Co. was composed of George G. Louden (Chemist), B.G. Louden (Druggist), George Helmick, D.C. Smith, and J.G. Smith. The primary business title was "Druggists," and their main business address was at 232 Archer Street in Philadelphia. In 1865, they had opened a second location at 1001 Vine, with George running it. They were still in business until around 1868. According to Holcombe, at some point John F. Henry bought out the entire line of Louden's medicines. The Hair Tonic was definitely for sale in 1857-8. According to O'Dell they sold several hair products. Louden's Hair dye and Hair Tonic were both for sale in 1872 and 1875 John F. Henry catalogs.
