David W. Hurd was a Druggist in New York City from 1843 to 1860. His business title changed to Patent Medicines in 1853. The primary business location was on Maiden Lane, starting at 83 Maiden Lane in 1843. During the period he was making Patent Medicines, the business was called Hurd & Co., but I don't know who else was involved.
Initially I thought that this Hurd was the proprietor of Hurd's Golden Gloss and Hair Restorer. Further evidence has suggested that this is not the case. It is still possible that they were related.
