Mrs. Gervaise Graham
According to a product pamplet, Mrs Gervaise Graham started her business in 1888. I found her listed as a Dermatologist in Chicago starting in 1895. Her primary business location was at 1250 Michigan Ave. By 1898, she called her business "Toilet Supplies." A product pamphlet from around 1920 listed her cosmetics and only listed one hair product (Hair Color). The label on the Cactico bottle I have calls the company Celebrated Cosmetics. Devner indicated that she knew of a "Dandruff Cure," made by Mrs Graham. Several of her products may have been in containers embossed like the one I've listed under Cactico. Unfortunately, there is no way to be sure an individual bottle contained a hair product unless it was labeled.

In 1880, there was an ad for "Graham's Hair Dye, Black or Brown" in the Morrison & Plummer catalog. The same year there was a "Graham's Liquid Hair Dye" listed for sale in the Woodward, Faxon & Co. catalog. A similar ad in 1896 for the Graham's products included "Blondine," "Dandruff Cure," "Hair Curler," "Oriental Hair Dye," and "Vegetable Hair Restorer". By 1901, the "Blondine" was no longer listed, and the "Cactico Hair Grower" was. A 1911 ad in the Hairdressers Journal showed a label for "Mrs Graham's Hair Color," which said that it was formerly called "Quick Hair Restorer."

Fellow collector James Bender had a bottle similar to my Cactico, and he said it had a lebel for "Mrs Graham's Vegetable Hair Restorer."
