It appears to me that the original was Vair Clirehugh's and all the others were imitations. In 1841, Clirehugh warned the public about Barry's infringements (View Ad). By 1870, Barclay & Co., claimed to own the rights to the words Tricopherous, Barry's Tricopherous, and Clirehugh's Tricopherous (View Ad).
