Charles & Thomas Speicher got started in Philadelphia around 1876. The first listing for them was for "Speicher Bros, Barbers" in 1876. They were at 519 Chestnut at that time and their business apparently stayed there although the street numbers changed. In 1883, the Speicher Dandruff Cure Co., registered their product label with the U.S. Patent Office. Their occupational listing changed to "Speicher Dandruff Cure Co., Patent Medicines" in 1889. The company was still listed from 93 to 95, but neither of the brothers was mentioned. (VIEW LABEL) |
