Sayre's Quinmarthion
William H. Sayre, a Druggist from Newark New Jersey, registered the word "Quinmathion" as a trade for "A preparation for promoting the growth of the hair" in 1884. They included a label (transcribed below & pictured right) with the petition, to show how the trademark was being used. He said he had used the brand name since 1881.
