Peruvian Hair Tonic
Richard M. Shoemaker, a member of Robert Shoemaker & Co., of Philadelphia, registered this brand name as a trademark in 1893. They claimed to have been selling the brand since 1892. The product was for "removing dandruff, strengthening the hair, and cleansing the scalp. They also mentioned that they sometimes had the words blown into the glass of the bottles. The label was given as an example of how the trademark was used.
