Megow's Hair Restorative
Herman E. Megow, of Princeton, Wisconsin, registered this label in 1876. I've transcribed the text from other parts of the label below.
DIRECTIONS FOR USING: 1st. Shake the bottle well before using. 2d. After shaking the bottle, pour a few spoonfuls into some vessel, then take a sponge and moisten it well with the Restorative. 3d. Rub the scalp thoroughly, and apply it by rubbing it in well with the ends of the fingers. Keep the hair free from oil as much as possible. 4th. To secure either growth or color, the Restorative should be applied for a few times every other day, and then once or twice a week.

This preparation is not like others, making the hair harsh and wiry, but it will always keep it soft and moist. Those troubled with Dandruff will find that a few applications of this Restorative will entirely cure this disorder of the scalp. Dandruff indicates disease which will destroy the hair, and it should be cured. Apply this Restorative a few times, and see how nicely it will be removed.
