This bottle was listed for sale in the January 86 issue of Old Bottle Magazine, by James L. Roth. It was listed as aqua, with additional embossing indicating that it was from Des Moines, IA. I found a Dr. Willard S.H. Matthews in Des Moines from 1889 until at least 1892, but I didn't find any reference to the preparation.
