Luytie's Quinine Hair Tonic
Herman C. G. Luyties was born in Bremen Germany around 1831. He was listed as a Druggist in the 1870 census. According to Fike, Dr Herman Luytie established his "Luytie Homoepathic Co." in 1853 in St Louis. He sold a wide variety of preparations, and there are a multitude of Luyties bottle variants. Devner listed one of his preparations as "Luyties' Quinine Hair Tonic." She said it claimed to be "for promoting hair growth, and preventing dandruff and all humors of the scalp."
