Susan Fenner was in the Patent Medicine business in Providence, R.I. in the 1860s. She had a huge ad in the 1863 Directory listing her "Pile Ointment," and her "Vegetable Hair Restoratives & Pomades." Her business was located at 66 Atwell's Avenue. At the end of the ad it said "Diseases of the scalp, and eruptions of the skin successfully treated for the last four years." She was still selling her Hair Restorative in 1872.
