| Josephine Semmes, of Washington, DC., registered this brand name as a trademark in 1885. The picture shown on the advertisement below was the same one on the trademark. Semmes was listed as a Chiropodist in 1886 and then a Dermatologist thereafter. She was still listed like that in 1896. In 1884 and 1888, Mrs. J. Lemmenz, of Boston brought her Electric Hair Restorer to the annual Exhibition of the Massachussetts Charitable Farmers and Mechanics Association. There was a Laird's Electric Hair Restorer advertised in 1897 in Melbourne, Australia. |
