Giragos Gongian, of Philadelphia registered a picture trademark for "Hair Tonics or Restorers" in 1911 (#82,769). He said he had been using the symbols since 1910. The picture was some person, but it's very blurry on the trademark petition. He also registered a second trademark (#82,770) for the word "Harem."
