| Matthew T. Clackner, of Baltimore, registered the words "NonPareil, or Clackner's Cream of Discoveries" as shown as trademarks in 1873 (#1,473). He claimed to have been using the brand name since 1872. The product was intended as a product for "restoring or renewing and coloring the hair, and is known commonly as hair restorer or dye." I found Matthew Clackner listed in Baltimore as a Hair Dyer from 1871 until 1882. His business was located at 59 E. Fayette.
