Buffalo Oil
This product was sold by William Brown of Boston. Brown was a Chemist at 481 Washington Street in Boston. The product was advertised in from 1838 through 1841 in the Bangor (Maine) Daily Whig. Bottle description & pictures provided by Paul Tremblay. In an 1841 ad., Brown stated that he had gotten a patent on a special copper engraved label for the bottle. It was also mentioned that the bottles were engraved WILLIAM BROWN on one side and BUFFALO OIL on the other.
